It is with great pleasure and honour that CAG29 proudly introduces its esteemed patron for this conference, Dr. Leake Hangala. 

Dr. Hangala is a Geologist, renowned businessman, and visionary entrepreneur. His support and dedication to the mining and energy fraternity has positioned him as a leader and advocate in the industry.

With a career spanning several decades, Dr. Leake Hangala has worked in several significant roles, including serving as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (Namibia) from 1990 to 1995 and as Chief Executive Officer for NamPower from 1995 to 2006. Throughout his journey, he has played a prominent role in various industries within Namibia, shaping the business sector and driving economic development.

Dr. Hangala'sexpertise extends beyond mining, as he has actively participated in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and tourism as a board member.

He holds a Ph.D., MSc., and BSc. in Geology and Mineralogy from the University of Helsinki in Finland and certificates in Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and in Management from the John F. Kennedy School of Government.
